Photography & Filmmaking.
One of the side work we love is to help more people get into filmmaking and photography. Not only is it fun to see people get excited when learning a new skill, we also believe it is a good way to contribute to conservation. We need more communicators working as ambassadors for the natural world and the research to understand it.
Pretty much everyone today has access to a camera of some sort and even the quality of the phone cameras is generally good enough to tell visual stories with good production quality. Rob and Jonas have over the years been running several workshops for scientists and enthusiasts in ways to use basic camera equipment to communicate their work. They have also built a successful platform on YouTube teaching both basic and advanced photography and filmmaking techniques. Below is a selection of their training videos from the channel including a playlist of 8 videos explaining the basic filmmaking process from idea to finished film. Also check out the other videos on the channel for more tips and ideas.
